Questions about Lie Detector: Hot Seat for Apple Watch? Start here, or get in touch with the team at Sun Ryse.
Include your Watch model, watchOS version, app version, and what happened. You don’t need to send health readings or private answers. We don’t have remote access to your saved rounds.
Is the app available yet?
Lie Detector: Hot Seat is available on the App Store for a one-time upfront purchase of US $0.99. There are no subscriptions or in-app purchases. Local prices may vary. It is designed for Apple Watch running watchOS 10 or later, with no iPhone companion app required.
Does it really detect lies or stress?
No. It describes available pulse readings, optional movement information, and the moments you mark yourself. A “bluff” or “tense moment” is your own label. A pulse change is not evidence that someone lied, and the app does not diagnose stress or a medical condition.
Can I play without the sensors?
Yes. Choose “Play Hot Seat” and then “Play now” to start without sensor permissions. You can answer or skip questions and mark moments yourself. “Truth or bluff?” is a separate guessing game that never uses sensors. The app won’t fill in missing readings or invent a result.
How does Truth or bluff work?
The storyteller privately chooses truth or bluff, tells a story aloud, and lets a friend guess. The reveal shows exactly what the storyteller selected. Nubi celebrates the turn; the app does not verify the story or decide whether someone lied.
The choice and guess stay only in memory for the current game. They are not saved to Recent rounds or recovery, and spoken answers are not recorded. The invitation can share a story count without sharing any individual selection.
Will the same questions keep coming back?
Three decks contain 75 questions in total. Five-question deals avoid the previous four deals within that deck. The app remembers only recent catalog question numbers in local preferences, not your answers or identity. Choose a different question whenever you want to skip.
How do I make Nubi my own?
Open “Make it yours” on the app’s home screen. Choose a Cream, Peach, Lavender, or Sky body color, then pick an outfit, hairstyle, makeup, and optional accessory. Keep Nubi classic, add glasses or a sparkle, and tap “Say hello” to try the five expressions.
The default look uses Lavender body color, No hair, Soft makeup, and a dark interface. The app remembers your appearance choices locally on your Watch. Clearing round history does not reset them.
Which outfits can Nubi wear?
Choose Just Nubi, Police, Lawyer, Cozy coat, Ribbon dress, Winter, Summer, Autumn, Halloween, or Christmas. Outfits are decorative and don’t change the questions, sensor readings, or results.
What hair, makeup, and accessories can I choose?
Hair choices are No hair, Curl, Swoop, and Pigtails. Hair tucks away under hats; choose Just Nubi or a hat-free outfit to see it. Makeup choices are Soft, Rosy, Lashes, and Starry. Keep Nubi without an accessory, or add Glasses or Sparkle. These choices are separate from Nubi’s body color and outfit. These cosmetic choices are included with the app, with no extra purchase.
What’s the difference between body color, accent, and theme?
Body color changes Nubi: Cream, Peach, Lavender, or Sky. App accent changes interface highlights: Apricot, Sky, Orchid, or Pearl. Theme changes the interface’s light or dark appearance: choose Dark, Light, or Follow Watch. These settings are independent, so you can keep your favorite Nubi in either a light or dark interface.
Can I turn off Nubi’s animations?
Yes. Turn off “Character motion” in “Make it yours.” The app also respects your Watch’s Reduce Motion setting. Expressions can still change, but the little movement and blink reactions stay off. When enabled, reactions are brief rather than an endless animation.
Nubi responds to app interactions and completed turns. Its face does not read your mood, judge your heart rate, or decide whether someone lied.
Why are there few readings, or none at all?
The app reads heart-rate samples that Apple Health makes available. It does not start a workout or force the optical sensor to run continuously. A short round may have few or no readings. Health access, Watch fit, and when the Watch records samples can affect what is available. Low Power Mode disables background heart measurements. One reading is too little to compare.
Check the app’s sensor choices and its access in Apple’s Health or Privacy settings. The app cannot reliably distinguish denied read access from an empty set of readings, so an empty result alone does not confirm which happened. A saved round may include notes about observed collection errors, limits or Low Power Mode.
How long does a fresh reference take?
It is optional: a guest can start immediately without comparison, or switch on “Collect a pulse reference” before starting. Collection takes up to 3½ minutes (210 seconds). The app starts your session earlier when it has enough recent, suitably spaced readings covering enough time. The screen shows the fresh reading count, covered time, and why it is still waiting. A countdown alone does not mean the reference is ready.
You can tap “Skip comparison” at any time. If there still isn’t enough data when time runs out, your session starts without a comparison. This short reference describes that moment, not your usual resting pulse.
Why isn’t there a personal comparison?
A comparison needs enough recent, reasonably spaced readings. Gaps, too little context, or a change of wearer can make that comparison unavailable. You can still review the readings you have. A fresh reference is short and describes that moment, not your usual resting pulse.
What happens when a guest wears my Watch?
Choose the guest option before starting. A guest can use a fresh reference collected for that session when enough readings are available, or continue without comparison. The usual wearer’s recent history is excluded. After guest use, the app temporarily avoids historical comparisons for the usual wearer too, and can offer a fresh reference.
Confirm when the Watch is back with its usual wearer. These protections depend on the wearer choice you make; the app cannot identify who is wearing the Watch. A small local guest-use marker remains even after clearing history to keep this protection working.
What does “Last 15 minutes” do?
When you ask for it, the app reads available heart-rate samples from the previous 30 minutes: the most recent 15 minutes to review, and the earlier 15 minutes for comparison if enough data is available. This is a lookback at saved readings, not continuous background monitoring. It is unavailable while recent guest use could mix readings from different people.
What happens if the app closes during a session?
The app normally ends and saves a session when it enters the background. For an unexpected interruption, it also keeps one local checkpoint after marked moments or completed questions and periodically while active. On Home, use “Review recovered session” to save and review the most recent successful checkpoint, or explicitly discard it. Its end time is the checkpoint time; nothing is invented for the missing interval. Save or discard the pending session before starting another recorded round.
A failed write keeps the previous checkpoint when one exists and shows an error. Recovery is best effort: an interruption before the first successful write cannot recover a session. Saving to history clears that matching checkpoint and keeps the same round identity.
What do the question intervals and marked moments show?
The recap places saved question intervals and your marked moments alongside actual pulse sample times. Select a moment or interval to review nearby readings; when there are none, the app says so. Question text comes from the app’s catalog. A question left open is marked unfinished, not silently counted as answered or skipped. Spoken answers are never recorded. A nearby pulse change does not prove a reaction to that question or establish a lie.
How do I delete my history?
Open Recent rounds to delete a saved round or clear all saved rounds. The app keeps no more than 30 rounds locally. Deleting app history does not delete the original records in Apple Health. The separate guest-use marker, appearance preferences, recent question numbers and any separate recovery checkpoint stay on the Watch. Review or discard a recovered checkpoint separately from Home. Removing the app removes its local app data.
What gets shared with a friend?
You preview a Nubi invitation image or text before opening the system share sheet. The image uses your chosen Nubi appearance. A session invitation contains the number of questions answered or moments marked, plus counts of bluffs and tense moments you reported yourself. A Truth or bluff invitation includes only the number of stories revealed, not anyone’s individual selection.
Neither format includes readings, dates, player names, question text or private answers. The image is created locally. You choose the image or text and its recipient or service; their privacy practices apply.
How do I change permissions?
You can switch the app’s optional sensor features off, and use Apple’s Health and Privacy settings to change its access. Lie Detector requests read access to heart rate only; it does not write Health records. Revoking access stops future permitted reads but does not automatically delete rounds you already saved. Use History to remove those.
Private by default.
No account or app backend is required. Saved rounds and recovery stay on the Watch. Sharing includes only your previewed invitation image or text and its counts. See the privacy policy for data choices, or app terms for the license and intended use.
